Rockwell Software Inc.based scheduling, a feature of Tempo software, helps the user incorporate intelligence into the way a sequence is built, giving the production planner finer control over the way operations are loaded onto the electronic planning board. Individual operations, rather than entire jobs, are loaded one at a time. Consequently, the user can minimize setups, increase throughput and reduce WIP. The software provides 50 standard rules in, but if none of these meet the needs of the production planner, user-specific rules can be added.
